Volunteers needed for the YMF CANstruction Team!

CANstruction is a design-build competition to build structures using only canned food.  All the food is then donated to the local food bank.  Teams of 6-8 people work to design a structure up to 6’x6’x6’ in size, collect cans, and build the structure for display downtown.  Winners from the Pittsburgh competition will be entered into the national competition.  More information on the National organization can be found here.

Volunteers will need to be available for the following important dates:
• Can drop off – Sept 20
• Build day – Sept 22
• Awards gala – Sept 28
• DeCANstruction – Sept 29
Additionally, all team members will need to help with getting donations/fundraising for cans.  It takes nearly 1000 cans to build a complete structure!  Interested team members can also help with design.

If you are interested in being on the YMF’s  CANstruction team, or helping with any part of the project, please e-mail Linda Kaplan for more information By July 31st.
