Structural Engineering Institute (SEI)

The Pittsburgh Section of the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) is a technical institute sanctioned by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Our goal is to support the local structural engineering profession in and around Pittsburgh.

Structural engineering spans a wide variety of project types, materials of construction and design criteria. The practicing structural engineer faces a daunting task in developing and maintaining a working knowledge of information required to solve diverse project requirements.

It is the hope and intent of the SEI to support the practicing structural engineers in this task by providing:

Pittsburgh has a long history of engineering and industry. From bridges to buildings, from project planning to completion, our structural professionals have a tremendous depth of experience. SEI desires to promote open dialog of this information between firms, enriching the quality of Pittsburgh’s structural engineering community.
