    Salary Range: $89,506 to $116,358 / Per Year

    Your duties will include the following:

    • Chief of the Structural Design Section.
    • Designs and develops structural features on navigation, flood control and local flood protection projects assigned to the Pittsburgh District.
    • Designs studies, analyses, layouts, computations, and final designs in connection with the preparation of design memoranda reports, contract plans, design reports, specifications, and engineering estimates for projects authorized for construction.
    • Plans and assigns work of subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, workforce to workload analysis, and prepares schedules for work completion.
    • Assigns work to staff based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of the assignments and capabilities of employees.
    • Provides guidance and technical support in a variety of structural engineering design features such as locks, dams, gates, bulkheads, bridges, retaining walls, foundation systems, buildings and other structures.
    • Performs a full range of supervisory activities including evaluating performance, hiring actions, recruitment, recruitment outreach, personnel actions, mentoring, and training.
    • Reviews and approves technical requirements of work performed by section. Conducts QA/QC reviews of above referenced work and AE contract product deliverables.
    • Develops and maintains a program of structural, finite element analysis, CADD, BIM, advanced structural modeling and other state of the art computer applications.
    • Provides professional engineering expertise in structural discipline to Branch and District.
